About Thriving with the Seasons

Contribute to the archive

This project isn’t just workshops. It’s us bringing back the old ways that kept people well before life got so rushed and ultra-processed.

If you’ve got a recipe your family swore by, a memory of growing up with certain foods, a photo from a local park, a tip for growing in a tiny yard, or some herbal wisdom that’s been passed down… we want it.

Because this is living heritage. It belongs to all of us. And we’re building an online archive (and a printed zine) so it doesn’t get lost

What you can share

Anything that connects to the seasons, food, plants, place, and how we look after ourselves. Examples:

  • “My nan’s winter broth”

  • “What we grew in the backyard and how we made it stretch”

  • “A remedy I was taught for coughs/colds”

  • “Memories of Sunnyhurst/Whitehall/Bold Venture”

  • “A photo that tells a story”

  • “A ritual that helps you slow down and come back to your body”

Back in the day

Meet Pam from Bud dees growing group here in Darwen. We will have the pleasure of being here Growing Thursdays, where Pam will be sharing her wisdom. Heres Pam talking about what she remembers from her grandad.  They grew tobacco back in the day- self sufficiency. Some may find this controversial!! Oh well thats how we roll!
